2002

Kristin Ehrgood and Vadim Nikitine co-found Sapientis with the purpose of improving the quality of public education in Puerto Rico.

2003

We launched our first program, recruiting outstanding university graduates and training them to become public school teachers.

2004

At the end of the 2003-2004 school year, 30 program participants had taught 2,230 students in 28 public schools.

2005

Kristin Ehrgood was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year in the Social Responsibility category by accounting firm Ernst & Young.

2006

We began expanding our programs with the purpose of developing a network of diverse and knowledgeable change agents.

We created the Schools on the Move, Front-Line Educators, Get Involved and Youth Leadership programs.

We joined forces with the Community Alliance for Educational Excellence (ACAEE, for its Spanish acronym) to improve the schools in the Luis Llorens Torres and Loíza Street communities.

We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Education of Puerto Rico to work with and train the members of the school councils in the Luis Llorens Torres and Loíza Street communities.

2007

Through our programs we have trained approximately 750 people in the adaptive leadership model.

We completed a strategic planning process for the next 5 years.
