Puerto Rico’s legislature is currently discussing over 50 legislative proposals concerning public education. These include projects for the decentralization of schools and the creation of charter schools, as well as the integration of foreign language and ethics components into the curriculum.
Since these legislative proposals are intended to improve the quality of teaching in public schools, we must learn more about how they might impact the different sectors of society, especially our youth. We urge you to read more about these proposals in this section and to decide for yourself if these measures will provide for much needed improvements in the quality of public education to benefit a new generation of Puerto Rican youth.
